Millions of stray animals are suffering in silence every single day on the Lucknow streets due to negligence, injuries, starvation, or maltreatment. IGSS (Indu Gramodyog Seva Sansthan) is the place where I would like to set foot, not only because it is an animal NGO in Lucknow, but also because it acts as a relief to the voiceless.

It can be a dog in need of help as traffic runs over it, or it can be an injured pup that needs medical assistance. The only thing all IGSS wants is to protect, heal, and put on a high vibe every stray soul in need.

What We Do at IGSS

As a grassroot movement, and passionate as a Dog NGO in Lucknow, IGSS observes:

1. Medical Treatment & Rescue

  • Our hard-working team of volunteers covers 24-hour work, to be on the road to save the lives of battered animals, either by vehicles, people, or other animals, or due to diseases. We offer all-embracing veterinary treatment, including minor first-aid, to complex surgeries by affiliating with clinics and having in-house facilities.

2. Feeding and Nutrition Programs

  • We feed more than 200+ street dogs daily, particularly in extreme weather conditions when there is a shortage of food. Together with our local feeding activities, we also create awareness among the locals on the need to coexist with the strays.

3. Adoption/ Foster Care

  • Interested in getting a furry pet? IGSS encourages people to adopt Indian street dogs, an action that breaks the stigma that only pedigree dogs should be adopted. We put all of the rehabilitated dogs through a process of vaccination, deworming, and preparation to be adopted by their forever homes.

4. Various drives of sterilization and vaccination

  • The following is to regulate the stray population in the correct way. To provide safer colonies and healthy stray animals, we conduct the ABC (Animal Birth Control) drives as well as the frequent anti-rabies vaccinations.

5. Community Raising & Education

  • We hold awareness programs relating to animal rights, how to be kind to strays, and what to do when one comes across an injured animal, whether in schools or local RWAs. It is also necessary to change attitudes as well as heal wounds.

Why IGSS Stands Out as a Lucknow Dog NGO

So why are we more than a rescue team:

  • It is 100 percent volunteer-driven.

  • Radiant donation and impact reporting

  • Social media updates of rescues and recoveries are made regularly

  • Exposure to veterinary practitioners

  • End-of-life care for unwanted or impaired dogs

We believe in creating a city that not only grows, but grows well.

How You Can Support IGSS

And, even if you can not personally adopt or foster, here are many ways to help:

  • There are volunteer opportunities in rescue ops, feeding drives, or even social media

  • Contribute towards food, medicines, surgery, or the maintenance of shelters

  • Support the costs of the monthly medical and food for a stray dog

  • WHAT YOU CAN DO: Spread the word, share our posts to spread awareness, and extend the pool of our supporters

It takes every tiny bit of effort. Since it is not only a life that is saved when you assist an animal, the second time that a person does not lose hope in people.
