International Day for Tolerance

Intolerance not only makes us deaf but also incapacitates our minds to think right. It's our social endorsement of narcissism where we are so blindfolded by our own beliefs that everything else appears meaningless to us. This makes our life nothing but a puppet show where our strings have been solely controlled by our prejudgment and small-mindedness.

Whether it's relationship intolerance, religious intolerance, or simply tolerating the intolerance of others it's vital for our well-being. It is such a poison that eradicates everything within us and around us. Understanding that we live in a secular country and everyone has their perspective, it's important to have listening ears and empathetic sanity. This not only brings peace within but also cultivates an ecosystem for everyone to breathe freely.

Tolerance strengthens our alliance with others and ourselves too. One should nurture forbearance with extreme compassion and patience. After all, it brings peace and respect to everyone. But be conscious of what you are tolerating and what not. Sometimes it's better to be intolerant of wrongdoing than to tolerate injustice and unfairness.

Don't confuse yourself with tolerance as a weakness. It takes wisdom, compassion, empathy, understanding, patience, and a lot more for one to pursue it. Endurance is a good virtue, a key to success and happy living. But unconditional compassion doesn't indicate unconditional tolerance. Patience and understanding do come with a boundary.
