Many young animal lovers decided to start their New Year in a unique and special way. On the New Year Eve IGSS decided to assist stray animals in Lucknow by providing them with anti-rabies vaccinations. In Lucknow, the "City of Nawabs," vaccinations and high-quality, nutritious foods are available. With this they ensured that the stray animals would have safe shelters in this new year. Many young boys and girls volunteered for the drive held by the IGSS NGO in Lucknow, India. Indu Gramodyog Sewa Sansthan, a non profit organization that has been looking after the stray animals in Lucknow since 2014.
While speaking to IGSS, the founder of IGSS Animal Welfare in Lucknow, Nilesh Bajpai stated that many stray animals meet with road accidents, and the organization wanted to help in stopping such accidents. IGSS makes sure that there is an ample supply of high-quality and nutritious food for stray animals in Lucknow, along with proper play toys and medicines and safe shelter homes for the stray animals. These safe shelter homes have been constructed keeping in mind the needs of these stray animals.
He further mentioned that the organization has been providing free services whenever a pet lover or caretaker has approached them for help. They have also organized special drives that involved volunteers to build momentum.
He said, "In the last four years, we have fed nearly 200 stray dogs every day." Our regular healthcare programs, conducted with the help of volunteers and vets have helped us detect and cure health issues among animals at a very early stage. Similarly we have provided reflective collars for 200 stray dogs. The collars are procured in Delhi and are stitched by unemployed individuals so that they can also earn a livelihood."
On December 31st, around twenty-two volunteers participated in a special campaign that Our volunteers have been working on a feeding programme for around 200–250 stray animals so that no dog can go to bed hungry and starve to death since every life matters. So our volunteer starts feeding from the SBI branch in Patrakarpuram and proceeds to Gwari Chauraha. Then he covers the area near Janeshwar Mishra Park, Dayal Paradise Chauraha, and then to Gomtinagar Chaura, and finally he feeds towards Neelkanth, followed by all the stray dogs in his colony, and the volunteers repeat this process every day.
